Ive had 2 ls430'and 4 mkiv ls400's, and I dont think I would buy another Ls430 again.Thank god ive sold the ls430. If you want a quiet, smooth and a reliable car, go for the mkiv ls400. The ls430 is not as smooth of a drive as the ls400 and its got too many toys that can go wrong and very expensive to fix. So my advice is go with a mkiv ls400.Front-engine, rear-wheel-drive. Get an 06 LS430, you should be able to get a low mileage fully loaded one for your price range. 07-08 LS 460 is a terrible car maintenance wise. Front suspension bushings (control arms) are $3k-4k. If it has air suspension you're looking between $1500-2000 for each air spring and they're notorious for failing.
